Toronto – September 15th 2017Wallo will introduce its new Spring/Summer 2018 collection for men and women, STAND UP Wallo 2018, at a runway presentation during Toronto Women’s Fashion Week (TW). TW is organized by Canada Fashion Group and directed by world renowned fashion producer Hans Koechling.

STAND UP Wallo 2018 will be presented on October 3rd at 7 PM, 1 Yonge Street.

Proudly Canadian, Wallo is a new colourful and surprising brand launched last year at Ogilvy's Cabinet Éphémère. Wallo is a design and manufacturing company headed by visual artist and designer Marie-Andrée Wallot. The public, media and buyers are invited to discover the newest collection at the fashion shows in Toronto. The clothing line, predominantly made of stretch silk, also includes chiffon silk, viscose and other high-performance synthetic materials.

The new age of silk

Resolutely charming and intriguing, the faces and eyes depicted in the STAND UP Wallo collection mesmerize and radiate a sweet feeling of joyfulness and confidence. With each of her large-scale, hand-crafted pieces printed on silk, Marie-Andrée Wallot creates unique works of art, inspired by the shores and seas of the world. Sprinkled with fluid lines that flow like water, intense and profound glances are flooded with shades of blue, azure and starry night navy. Marie-Andrée Wallot's newest collection has captured the essence of human intelligence and the colourful beauty of sensitive emotions.

Silk – A choice for elegance

Wallo’s stretch silk is made from 90% charmeuse silk and 10% Lycra, resulting in a material that is tremendously soft, resistant and comfortable. Marie-Andrée Wallot explains, “The charmeuse silk that we use offers an amazing depth of colour. Because it is timeless, to me, silk symbolises the rich and everlasting nature of human relationships. It is soft, light, fresh and silky on the skin – it is a joy to wear. It fluidly follows the body’s movements and drapes joyfully and gracefully.”

Expertly crafted, high-end fashion

Wallo’s designs, thanks to modern and balanced cuts, are the perfect canvas for Marie-Andrée Wallot’s pictorial works of art. The women's collection includes light and elegant cocktail dresses, vapourous silk scarves, a pareo dress, as well as opaque and transparent silk pareo skirts flowing with movement. For men, Wallo offers beautiful silk kimonos, high-performance polyester t-shirts, chic interior pants and highly stylish, yet versatile silk bermuda shorts. Making silk clothing requires a particular expertise, from design to sewing. Our qualified creation and confection team, from hi-res printing to the finished clothes, ensures a top-quality product held to the highest of standards. A world of deep and serene colours – a celebration of blue/blue in the spotlight/blue takes center stage

2018 will be strongly tinted with blue! Confident, soft and eternal, shades of blue evoke the sky and the sea in all their splendor, softness and natural power. Wallo's paintings reveal the faces of confident and gentle women. The images are made of rich textures and several shades of deep blue, purple and indigo intertwined with night blacks, marble whites and neutral tones. From the Caribbean to the North Sea, the sun warms up and paints the sky and sea. These bluish paintings are electrified by bright yellow streaks and caressed by black brush strokes that accentuate the shapes and the piercing eyes. Colour takes centre stage on the serene, lively and inspired creations by the designer.
